Technical: Proposed design 'aura'

A fun learning environment for the broader community to experience a one off temporary event to share knowledge. The space provides a program of books aimed at different lifestyle genres over a 4-week period.

There will be evening and weekend classes based on each genre including Arts, Home, Travel and Cooking run by South Yarra Council.

Amazon promotes ‘The Centre of Ideas’ online to appeal to a wider audience and run a small book selling area within the site. People can escape from the world with a book within triangular study zones.

I was inspired by the drawings from MVRDV for my final project, the colours are bright, playful and contrast against the existing site. However, for my final design proposal of a place to relax and read in, these colours were much too vibrant.

I wanted to provide a more subtle colour scheme for my proposed space.

Detail of class area screen - space can open up depending on activities taking place in the library. If classes are on, the traingles can be pulled down and give better accoustics.
